PNG Department of National Planning and Monitoring has approved our project Proposal and released funds to Wogamo Development Agency to enable Gema Coffee Cooperative Society to increase Coffee production, processing and delivery to markets from these remote communities inaccessible by road in Yalia LLG of Obura-Wonenara District of EHP. This Freight Subsidy and SME Support Project is implemented from November 2025 to 30 June 2026.

Community mobilization and preparation to participate in this Freight Subsidy and SME support project. The people have expressed their gratitude for the Government to recognise their hardships and strugle they face every coffee seasons resulting in tonnes of coffee bags rotting away in previous years due to inaccessibility of road transport thus relying heavily on air frieght. Their overwhelming participation signaals a future sucess of this project

Due to our remoteness and inaccessibility by roads, this project has supported the procurement and installation of mini mobile Coffee processing machine (husking) powered by Solar power as a pilot activity for scale up in the future. This will increase quality out to markets.
